Happy Saturday, everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend so far, and maybe even enjoying some snow where you are (I’m so jealous!!) This weekend I’ll be staying cozy at home watching movies with my big Christmas tin of popcorn, baking sugar cookies, and helping my mom finish her gift wrapping…I already finished mine (see my highly requested gift wrapping post here!)

Today I wanted to share my Christmas room decor with you all. There’s nothing I love more than decorating for Christmas, and I wish the season would never end! I want my room to stay this cozy and festive forever! Ruby sure loves it too ūüėČ Notice her sound asleep on her favorite spot on my bed. Along with a cozy room comes snuggling up with Christmas movies, so I also wanted to include my 10 favorite Christmas movies on Netflix! Perfect timing just in case you’re wanting to have a movie marathon this weekend, ha! This is where you’ll find me this weekend with that tin of popcorn. It’s Topsy’s, a KC company that’s been around for a long time, and every year we get a big Christmas tin! It’s seriously the best popcorn you’ll ever have, even Ruby is obsessed and tries to sneak a piece any time she can!

Book Review Part Two

book review part two rachel puccetti between two coasts

Happy Friday everyone! Today I am sharing my book review part two! This time of year is the perfect time to cozy up with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa! Here are some of my latest reads…

1. The Breakdown by B.A. Paris

This was without a doubt one of my all time favorite thrillers! I tore through this book, and it seriously had me a bit on edge reading it late at night! The main character, Cass, drives home late one night down a winding road in the woods, in the middle of a downpour. She sees a car on the side of the road, and debates whether to stop and help them or not. Only to later find out that the woman in the car was murdered, and feels terribly guilty for not stopping. She can’t admit to anyone what she saw that night, especially since she promised her husband she wouldn’t take that dangerous road. Ever since then, she keeps receiving silent calls, and has a feeling that someone has been in her house and is watching her. Cass can’t seem to remember simple things like where she left her car, if she took her pills, or what her alarm code is. Is she really losing it, or are things not as they seem? In the end, you won’t see the twist coming at all! SO good!

2. A Stranger in the House by Shari Lapena

Tom and Karen Krupp are happily married and living in the suburbs in New York. One day, Tom comes home to find Karen has simply disappeared. The house is unlocked and her car is gone, but all of her belongings including her ID and phone are still there. The police soon inform him that Karen has been in a card accident in the worst part of town. She wakes up in the hospital with no memory of that night, but quickly needs to recover her memory when a murder is reported just down the street from where her accident happened. The police begin to suspect that it was Karen, and she is desperately trying to prove she’s innocent, especially since she feels that someone has been in her house, moving her things around. I absolutely loved this book, and the twist at the end was completely unexpected!

3. Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris

Jack and Grace seem like the perfect couple. Jack is wealthy and very handsome, and Grace is elegant and a woman of many talents. The two never spend a minute apart from eachother, but is it really true love? Grace’s friends wonder why she doesn’t have a cell phone, or why she can’t leave the house without Jack, or why their house is so heavily secured? You’ll soon found out that things aren’t always as perfect as they seem, and you never know what goes on behind closed doors. This book was another page turner, and really kept me on edge!

4. Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

This is the book that I am currently reading and nearly finished with, but am loving! Catherine thinks she is the luckiest girl when she meets blue-eyed, gorgeous Lee, but his mysterious side might not be so attractive after all. Their relationship quickly turns from passion to a nightmare, as Lee becomes twisted and violent, and horribly jealous. Catherine tries to end things and turn to her friends for help, but they don’t believe her. She feels alone and desperate to escape, just barely with her life. Four years later and Lee is in prison, and Catherine has moved on with her life. Her past stills haunts her though, and she suffers from OCD in an effort to feel safe from day to day. Her new neighbor, Stuart, helps comfort her and brings hope that she can turn things around and finally have a normal life. That is, until the day that the phone rings…

I would love to hear if you have read any of these, and keep me posted if you decide to read them! I highly recommend all of them! I absolutely love mysteries and psychological thrillers, and would love any good recs you might have! You can never have too many good books for the winter time!

Hello, loves! I am SO excited to finally share my room reveal with you all! It was definitely one of my most requested posts, and after adding a few finishing touches over the last few weeks, I absolutely LOVE how it turned out! I hope you do too!

I wanted my room to be light and bright, and be a place that was always pretty and relaxing! I went with mostly white bedding, and added soft touches with pillows and cozy throws. I knew I wanted to incorporate my favorite color combo of blush pink and grey, and I just love how all the grey accents and pops of pink make the room cozy, yet still chic! I couldn’t help but add a few parisian touches too! This gorgeous mirror and my Paris prints are some of my favorite pieces in my room! Who doesn’t want to go to bed dreaming of Paris?

I think you will be as excited to find as I was that just about everything in my room is very affordable while appearing to be high end, and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of it all! I hope you’ll find that this is perfect for the girl on a budget! I even have a few Ikea hacks in my room! This dresser has been fantastic, and I’m obsessed with how the handles turned out that I added on from Hobby Lobby (so easy!) It doesn’t get much better than finding such a large and pretty piece of furniture (with tons of storage) for under $200!! These shelves that I spray painted gold (only $50!) are the perfect piece to display my handbag collection! I think that corner with my shoes and handbag collection might be my favorite little part of my room, ha!

This gorgeous headboard I ordered from Target is my everything! I seriously can’t recommend it enough! It’s just as pretty in person, and truly is great quality. They are always having some sort of furniture sale, so I got an amazing deal on it, but it looks like I could’ve spent thousands on it! At the end of a long day, I can’t wait to cozy up in bed with a good book and one of my favorite candles burning!

I also want to mention my wall color. It’s Benjamin Moore ‘Nebulous White’, and it turned out to be the perfect color. If you’re someone that wants a soft, bright room, but you don’t want to commit to fully white walls, I think you would love this color! It looks fantastic with a white palette, and has a subtle blue/grey tint.

I hope you this room reveal gave you a little bit of room inspiration, and if you have any questions about anything, please let me know!! XO, Rachel

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend Christmas festivities and time spent with loved ones. Today I wanted to stop by and share a fun little post with you all, and show you my Christmas gift wrap! All of my presents are wrapped and under the tree, ready to be opened bright and early tomorrow morning! This time of year I get so excited not just for shopping and checking off my list, but for wrapping up all the goodies that I found. Each year I choose a new Christmas gift wrap theme, and love collecting all of the cutest gift enclosures, ribbon and decor to match! It is seriously my favorite thing (I was taught well by my mom!) Last weekend I turned on Elf, made some hot cocoa, and got to work wrapping away!

This year you could say my theme was a winter adventure/camping theme. As soon as I saw these adorable little Christmas camping ornaments at Target, I was sold! I mean, how darn cute are they? I just love how they all turned out, and they’re almost too cute to open tomorrow…!¬†Almost.¬†

Thank you all so much for stopping by, and I wish you the merriest of weekends! P.S.- I’ll be sharing some fun little snippets of my weekend on Snapchat (rachelpuccetti)

Currently Reading

currently reading rachel puccetti between two coasts books to read rachel puccetti between two coasts books I've read and loved rachel puccetti currently reading rachel puccetti good books to read rachel puccetti between two coasts room decor fashion blogger rachel puccetti between two coasts winter reading list rachel puccetti between two coasts christmas room decor rachel puccetti between two coasts reading list rachel puccetti between two coastsPJ’S: PJ Salvage (similar here!), Lips: Lipstick- Pink Plaid, Nightstands: here & here, Duvet: Nordstrom, Blanket: Target, Mug: Williams-Sonoma, Lamp: Cupcakes & Cashmere, Candle: NEST, Wreath: Target, Glass Trees: similar here & here

Curling up with a good book has always been one of my favorite things to do at night, or in my free down time, especially during the winter. Once I have finished working for the night, I love to make a cup of hot cocoa and get cozy in bed in my fav PJ’s (PJ Salvage!) with my pups and my current read. It’s the perfect way to relax at the end of the day, and Ruby & Lola really love it, too!¬†(or maybe they just love my pile of cozy blankets ;))

I’ve always been a mystery kind of girl, and lately I feel like there have been SO many good ones out there, so I thought it would be fun to share a few that I am currently reading! Plus, the snow is coming down for many of you, and winter break is right around the corner, so it’s the perfect time to grab a new book!

1. The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

This book is on many recommendation lists, and it did not disappoint! It begins with a couple who return home from a dinner party late one night, and find their baby girl missing. You are led through the investigation, and I was constantly trying to guess who did it…which turned into many late nights for me because I couldn’t stop turning the page! I would definitely recommend this if you love solving mysteries!

2. The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas

When I came across this book, I hadn’t heard anything about it yet, but decided to give it a try. Sure enough, I ended up really loving it! Camille Logan, a beautiful, wealthy girl finds herself under the protection of her new body guard and former sniper, Jake Sharp. There’s a threat on her life thanks to her ruthless business man of a father. Both Camille and Jake have dark pasts, but he finds her to be much more than the bad press makes her out to be. She might be just what he needs to face his fears. They come to need each other, but a certain threat stands in their way. It was the perfect balance between suspense and romance! P.S.- this book is pretty racy, and graphic at times which I wasn’t expecting, but just wanted to give you a fair warning!

3. In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

The first book I read by Ware was The Woman in Cabin 10¬†which I absolutely loved, so I was excited to read this one. I love how suspenseful her books are, and she does the best job at keeping you on your toes! Nora is invited to a bachelorette party for a friend from her past, and she reluctantly agrees to attend. The setting takes place in¬†a house in the middle of the woods (so creepy!), and things take a very dark, and twisted turn. You might not want to read this one late at night, ladies ūüėČ

Let’s chat! I would love to hear if you have read any of these and what you thought. Also, I would especially love any similar book recommendations!

Enjoy! Xo, Rachel
